Some prints incorporate images of George Washington for which no source can be identified.  In most cases, this is because the image is simply a fictitious invention of the

printmaker.  In some cases, however, it may reflect that the printmaker simply did not have the skills to adequately reproduce the likeness he was attempting to copy.
