Cav. Proc. Federico Prospero Cornaro (H-31)

Died: 24 August 1708. Buried in the Santo, Padua.

Cav. Proc. Federico Prospero Cornaro, a member of the Cornaro della Regina branch of the family in its S. Cassiano line, was Ambassador to Spain, 1677, and to Emperor Leopold I in Vienna, 1683. A Senator, he held a succession of important posts, culminating in his being named Procurator di S. Marco, 22 October 1690.

Cav. Proc. Federico was the sixth owner/manager of Villa Cornaro, the family's Palladian villa at Piombino Dese. He commissioned Baldassare Longhena and Giusto LeCourt to create the funeral monument to his brother Caterino Domenico Cornaro (H-29) in the Santo, Padua. He also provided in his will for the family palace Ca' Cornaro della Regina in S. Cassiano Parish to be razed and rebuilt by his heirs.
